OUR STORY

For some, furniture is just wood and nails. For us, it’s a memory.

The passion for furniture came to the managing partner of Woodlot, Mr. Althaf PC, from his childhood. He grew up to the sound of saws and the smell of teak dust. His family has been in the furniture business since 1995. School holidays weren’t spent on playgrounds, they were spent in the workshop, watching how raw timber turned into heirlooms.

By age 16, Althaf could tell Nilambur teak from rosewood by touch. He saw how his father, Abdul Raheem, treated every customer like family and every piece like it was going into his own home. That standard stuck.

But passion alone wasn’t enough. Althaf graduated with his BBA from Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, Calicut, and earned his MBA from Christ University, Bangalore. Business school taught him strategy, scale, and customer thinking. The workshop taught him craft, patience, and trust.

On July 4th, 2019, Althaf turned that childhood passion into a dream store: Woodlot Furniture. He didn’t build it alone. He launched it with two partners who shared his blood and his blueprint: his father Abdul Raheem, the craftsman with 25+ years of wisdom, and his brother Rameez Hussain, who brought modern thinking to traditional craft.

Woodlot was born to bridge two worlds: the honesty of old-school carpentry and the needs of today’s homes. A place where a young couple furnishing their first flat and a grandparent restoring ancestral furniture both feel at home.

Today, Woodlot stands on three pillars: Own factory. 20+ design experts. 1000+ delivered projects. But the heart remains the same three generations of hands shaping wood with respect.

We don’t just make furniture. We make the pieces your children will fight over 30+ years from now. Because good wood, like a good family, only gets stronger with time.
